This is an itinerary for Valley of Flowers trek starting from Haridwar and back to Haridwar.

Valley of flowers trek | Day 1

Haridwar to Govind Ghat, 300 Kilometers, By Road, 10-12 Hrs.

The upper river is Mandakini coming from Kedarnath and other one is Alaknanda coming from Badrinath. After this point they together are called Alaknanda, which meets Bhagirathi river at Dev Prayag. Mandakini flows with a slow pace compared to Alaknanda.

Valley of flowers trek trip starts at Haridwar. We will pick you up from a predetermined place at Haridwar in a Tempo Travellor or Mini Bus and drive towards our trek starting point i.e. Govind Ghat. Full Day Road journey along with river Alaknanda. On the way we will see Devprayag and Rudraprayag. (Provided we have extra time and the group is punctual)

It is Devprayag and left Side is river Bhagirathi coming from Gangotri (Greenish Shade) and the other one is Alaknanda coming from Badrinath.

Alaknanda further flows down to DevPrayag and meets River Bhagirathi to form river Ganga.

Devprayag is the place where river Bhagirathi meets Alaknanda and after this it is called Ganga. At Rudra Prayag river Alaknanda meets river Mandakini and after meeting they are called Alknanda. Alaknanda further flows down to Devprayag and meets River Bhagirathi to form river Ganga. See the pics on the sides.

Full day journey, lunch on the way and reach Govindghat by the evening. Govindghat is the trek starting point. It is situated on the bank of river Alaknanda. Watch beautiful scenes in the evening. Sleep early to get up early in the morning.

Govind Ghat to Ghangria, 13 Kilometers, Trekking, 6-7 Hrs by trekking.

This is a view after walking 7 kilometers towards village Ghangria. One need to trek towards this snow clad mountain for trekking to Kag Bhusandi Lake (a high altitude lake)

Get up early in the morning. Have breakfast and start trekking by 7 am towards village Ghangria. Lunch on the way. You will see lots of beautiful scenes on the way. Trekking will be along river Pushpawati (That flows through The Valley of Flowers).

You will see a waterfall, falling at a height of 180 meters(590 feet). See left side image.

For the first 9 Kilometers river Pushpawati will be on our right side and then we cross the river. We will have lunch on the bank of the river just before crossing the river.After crossing the river the last 4 kilometers are bit steeper. Total altitude gain in today’s trek will be approximately 1.5 Kiometers.

We will reach Ghangria by evening, those who are more energtic can accompany us to a beautiful waterfall near to the village and watch some rare birds and especially tailless rat found in abduance here.

Valley of flowers trek | Day 3

Ghangria to Valley of Flowers and back to Ghangria, 13-14 Kilometers Trekking, 7-8 Hrs.

This is the day you will see the most beautiful place on this earth.

Pushpawati river bed in valley of flowers. We will have our lunch here, right in the middle of the river. Kindly observe a pink shade on the river bed also. This pink shade is of a colony of a beautiful flower.

Get up early in the morning. Have breakfast and start trekking by 7 am towards Valley of Flowers. At the official enterence gate you need to take Ticket for the enterence, which is valid for three days. It costs only Rs. 150 for Indian citizens and Rs. 450 for non-Indians

you have entered a no men land. You dont have to carry drinking water, as all water flowing is drinkable. No human activity so no pollution.

Just in front of the enterence gate you will see a nice waterfall. Picture on right side.

Soon after entering the valley’s check point you will start witnesing the power and silance of nature. All the sounds you will listen will be of water flow, chriping sound of birds and small creatures. You have entered a no men land. You dont have to carry drinking water, as all water flowing is drinkable. No human activity so no pollution.

You should target for having Lunch at Pushpawati River Bed (Watch the picture above) For this you need to be bit fast and should not waste lot of time in clicking photographs. Last year only 30-40 % of the people in our groups reached this point. But we were 90% of the people reaching Pushpawati river bed. This point is six and half kilometers from Ghangaria. So you need to trek 14 kilometers in total.

We are unable to explain the experience in words. Even no media is sufficient to explain the real experience.

You need to visit Valley of Flowers to have real Heaven like experience.

Valley of flowers trek | Day 4

Ghangria to Shri Hemkund Sahib and back to Ghangaria, 12 Kilometers, Trekking, 8-9 Hrs.

Get up early in the morning. Have breakfast and start trekking by 7 am towards Shri Hemkund Sahib. Shri Hemkund Sahib is a Gurudwara, a famous pilgrimage of Sikh Religion. As a nature lover you can see this high altitude lake.

Hemkund Sahib is the worlds highest gurudwara. A very beautiful lake, with snow clad mountains throughout the year. This is a summer season picture.

BRAHAM KAMAL and BLUE POPPY : They both are rare flowers in the World. Brhamkamal has a special significance in Hindu religion. Japaneese, specially come to Valley of flowers to see BLUE POPPY.

The lake is at a height of 13500 ft above sea level. Fantastic scenes on the way. This is the steepest of the trek till now. Six kilometers on one side. You will see Brahamkamal, Blue Popies and Vajardanti flowers on the way.

Valley of flowers trek | Day 5

Ghangria to Govind Ghat, 13 Kilometers, trekking, 5 Hours AND Govind ghat to Badrinath, 20 Kilometres, By road, 1 hour

Get up early in the morning. Have breakfast and start trekking by 6 am back towards Govind Ghat. Lunch at Govind Ghat. We will move to Badrinath by road. This road journey is very thrilling. Waterfalls and rivers crossing the road. You will love to see the real power of flowing river Alaknanda. Great scenes all over.

We will straight way reach village Mana by road passing Badrinath. We will check in hotel only after visiting village Mana

You will love to see the starting point of river Saraswati at Mana.

You will love to see the starting point of river Saraswati at Mana. It is a very beautiful scene. This village is just 3 kilometers from Badrinath. You will love it. You may also see Vayas Gupha.

After coming back to hotel, freshen up and visit to Shri Badrinath Tample. You may also like to take bath at hot water springs near the tample. There are hot water tanks, which are filled continuously by hot water spring. Visit tample today only as tomorrow you need to start by 6 in the morning.

Valley of flowers | Day 6

Badrinath to Haridwar, 320 kilometers, 10-12 hrs.

This is the last day of the trip. Early morning departure from Badrinath, breakfast and lunch on the way. Reach Haridwar by evening. We will take leave here.

Though tired you will be filled with a different kind of energy. Some of you may like to continue moving back to your home in night, While others may want to stay at Haridwar for a night.
